Very nice place, the owner is very kind, and the food taste so good excellent. Love this place
It is a lovely small place. We stopped here on the way from Mendocino to South Bay. Really nice people, we had a good conversation with them. And not to mention the delicious food, that they happily customised for our taste. We had the lentil soup (with tarka), paneer saag, aloo paratha, and veggie momos. Everything was good, had a filling dinner. Topped it with chai at the end.
Tired of downtown Ukiah? Head here for an absolutely delicious, authentic Nepalese meal. I had the butter chicken with brown rice and my goodness, delish, delish, delish. Outdoor seating, clean bathroom, excellent customer service.Ordered garlic naan to scoop up my sauces, and yay~ yum :D
I love this place. I am coming back to try more items. The service is awesome and I believe there will be new management coming from 1st December 2019..Thank you for providing this great service in our county.
Very tasty food. Staff is also very good. Best experience.
Love Indian food. Found this place on my GPS while passing through. Lentil soup is fantastic. Had the Garlic Naan, Mix Veggie Masala, and Butter chicken. Food was flavorful without being over spiced. Nepalese food is amazing. This will be my regular stopping point from now on when traveling.
When I tasted the dal at the beginning of the meal, I wanted to give five stars right there. I don't think I've ever had dal with such complex and nicely-balanced spicing before. The two curries we had were also excellent. The garlic naan was pretty good, but didn't really live up to the rest--it was a little doughy. Still, if I lived in Ukiah I'd eat here a lot. Good service, fair prices, excellent food.
I went there for the first time and the actual owner waited on me and my wife! The service was fantastic and the food was wonderful. The new owners have only been there two months and trying really hard to make even more improvements!
Great comfy place. Food tastes good.
Great service and food from heaven.
Chicken tandoori is so amazing.. big serving.. the owner is so humble and helpful
Consistently very good food and service at very reasonable prices. I love the lamb with spinach. Fantastic herbs and spices. However, mango lassi tastes kinda weird to my taste. Not too much variety in food, but all really good. Personal complaint: I don't like having a TV on while I eat.
During a world health pandemic I was going to overlook the fact that none of the employees are practicing social distancing, wearing any face masks, or any gloves. They messed my order up that I drove 40 miles round trip to pick up, I then had to drive another 40 miles round trip to get a refund of cash. All the while the employees are unapologetic, rude, and seemingly believe it’s some how my fault. I clarified how far I was driving, during stay at home orders I might add, my name for the order, and the order itself (twice). This is the second time they have done this and I have had to drive back, first time shame on them, second shame on me, their will not be a third.
Delicious food from a charming hole in the wall. Eating here made my day, and I'm excited to go back and try the other menu items! Everything was well seasoned and served promptly. The portions were generous and the prices quite reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant, and wish the new managment the best!
Enjoyed a delicious dinner in late Dec 2019. User new management at that time. First time trying Nepalese/Indian food. We had chicken momos, chicken tikki, lentil soup, and garlic naan. The staff was friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices for the amount and quality of food. Fast service. Would love to eat here again.
REALLY GOOD FOOD here. Surprised I was the only one in the place at 5:30. Sakora (sp?) appetizer was wonderful. The curry chicken was very tasty and well seasoned. Enjoyed the dessert too.Great little place on the south side of town, that more people should try.
Great food. We love it.
the location is right off of 101, the restaurant is really good, the food was very well cooked, the server was also very helpful, parking spaces are limited, and the restaurant is kind of old, but food is really good
I have just got the chance to go back to the place and have had yet another positive experience with the staff and the food they provided for my family was excellent. Have to give them a 5 out of five.
Visually the restaurant isn't the most beautiful. But the food is delicious. We usually get the Himalayan style dinner ($14-$18) and that is enough for us to share. Only thing we don't like from it is the chutney, which as best we can understand is like pickled jalapenos. Otherwise great food and value for your $$$.
The taste of Nepal is a great place to get Nepalese food, they are under new ownership and I suspect they will be improving but that being said they still have a bit of a way to go. The food is good but the interior needs renovations, we were there during lunch and we're the only people kind of surprising
Love the food and the new owners!
Super delicious food, friendly staff, very calm and peaceful environment, Namaste Pemba
Nepalese food comes very close to Indian food.Travelled 90mins to eat here as we were craving for Indian type of food.We were served complementary Lentil soup and it was amazing. We ordered Samosa, Salmon Tandoori and Veg Chowmien.Samosa was awesome, as it was freshly made, infact everything was very fresh.Salmon Tandoori also had a good mix of spices as we expect in Indian food.Veg Chowmien I felt was bit on the sweeter side, but it was not bad. I would take one a star for that. The staff is soft spoken and humble.Overall, place is good and I would come back here, but may not travel 90mins.
If you order to go, there is high likely that they are going to mess up. They missed roti's in my order and when called up later they don't even want to listen or admit there was wrong on their part.
Super good food! Definitely get the Momo appetizer. Everything was a bit pricey, but I think worth it
Definitely the best Indian food in Ukiah area! Drove from Mendocino!
The food was very good. The menu is small so it is easy to decide on what to order. The portions are big and you may want to split an order or order family style. You can also choose the spice level when ordering. The person waiting on us was not very good at being a waiter, however
Great Indian food in Ukiah! Don't let the shoddy decor deter you.
It's a calm place to relax and enjoy the food without being in a hurry Es un lugar tranquilo para relajarse y comer rico sin prisas
Atmosphere was calm and quiet. Food was really delicious, a little pricey, but ultimately worth it.
Lunch specials are a good value and very tasty. The dinner service seems to be lacking
Oh my goodness, so delicious! They just changed owners (again) and it already is super. The $17 meal with about 5 small dishes is a great choice.
Good food.
I used to enjoy ordering their salmon saag alot, but lately they have drastically reduced the amount of salmon they put in the dish! I ordered yesterday and literally counted 3 small chunks of salmon! Ridiculous. Its not a cheap meal either, so why charge high and give such little portion?
Bad service, tiny menu, the waiter took ages to get us the food, the curry was cold by the time we got our breads. Not worth the money!I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
We are vegetarians. We were returning from fort Bragg to Napa, we looked up indian place on yelp and found good ratings for the place. So we decided to check it out for lunch. The waitress was very courteous, took our order over phone. The food took around 20 mins to arrive. We ordered veggie momos, chili tofu for appetizers. Veg korma and garlic Naan for main course. Each dish was delicious. Veg korma comes with a serving of rice. Our 6 year old likes the veggie noodles, but I found it slightly greasy. We had Masala chai. It was authentic. We like it stronger, so we requested the staff to add more tea to it, and they remade our chai. The folks around my table were ordering another round of butter chicken, must have been good I guess 😀I would definitely recommend for vegetarians.
Amazing authentic food highly recommend!!! Service was amazing if you're in town and love Indian food this place is a must!!!
Food was tasty and fairly priced. Portions were generous. Menu has a good diversity. Food was customized as per taste as we instructed. Moreover, place was clean.
Excellent food, Tandoori chicken was overcooked. Hard and dry. Still a great place, however.
used to be the Himalayan cafe! the new menu is smaller but still has the great tastes of Nepal/India at whatever spice level you can handle! they no longer offer saffron rice😥 but if you ask the garlic naan bread Is still there😍 a must to scoop up anything you order!!!
One of my go-to spots to grab something to eat. very good location, well kept, and good service. Keep it up!
This is a picture of our cleaned plates because OMG... Delicious! They could give any big city restaurant or run for their money. We will be back!
Our host suggested a special entree not on the menu which consisted of a platter of grilled meats, poultry, fish, onions, and peppers with delicious sauces. We also enjoyed tandoori chicken with rice, naan, chai, and a sweet pudding dessert. Generous portions ... we’re happy to take home some of the dishes to feast on tomorrow.
Good flavor, place was being fixed up and good service.
Good food with nice and helpful staff.
Great food! Prices were adequate and very kind staff. I've eaten there a couple times now and every time has been just as good. Make sure to ask for something spicy if that's what you like, they will not disappoint.
Really good food
I got the butter chicken with some onion kulchha bread, and it was amazingly good. I would definitely come again.
Food was fantastic! We ate here for lunch today and ordered the Chicken Saag and the Tandoori Chicken, with Garlic Naan (amazing). The Saag is delicious, made with fresh spinach in the creamy sauce. Very flavorful. The Tandoori Chicken was wonderful! It's sort of like their version of fajitas, only better. I ordered the drumsticks and thigh meat with the vegetables. They bbq it in a 500 degree oven and it comes out sizzling just like a fajita plate. The server offered a couple of sauces to go with the dish, and I chose to try both. I loved them both! One was a chimichurri sauce (mint, cilantro, green sauce) and the other was a dark tamarind based sauce (sort of like a luxury version of a steak sauce). Our waiter was very helpful, conversational, and helped us make our choices. He was very accommodating to allow me to mix and match my meal so that I could try two things. Overall a great experience!
